Salt Lake City ER - Here When You Need Us Most
Located in Salt Lake City, the St. Mark's Hospital ER is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide our community quality healthcare, when it matters most. The emergency room staff has decades of experience handling complex medical emergencies including heart attacks, strokes and orthopedic injuries. We aim to deliver the highest quality care of any emergency room in Salt Lake City.
Level III trauma center
St. Mark's recently achieved designation as a level III trauma center (as verified by the Utah Department of Health) means St. Mark's is now better equipped to serve our local communities in need of advanced care for injured patients. With this designation, our hospital has become a more integral part of Utah's specialty trauma care system, a coordinated approach to reducing unnecessary disabilities and deaths from traumatic injuries through cooperation of all healthcare providers statewide.
People who are severely injured need fast access to specialized treatment, resources and equipment to prevent death and/or permanent disabilities. In fact, CDC-supported research demonstrated a 25 percent reduction in deaths when patients with serious injuries are quickly transported and treated at a trauma center.
Different from a normal Emergency Room
Level III trauma centers differ from a normal emergency room in several ways, including:
- Quality assessment program
- Providing rural and community hospitals with back-up care and transfer agreements
- Transfer agreements for patients requiring more comprehensive care at level I or level II trauma center
When you choose our ER and trauma center, you can rest easier knowing you and your family are getting quality emergency care.
